Privacy & cookies
Author Leverage is operated by John Westley, a self-employed individual based in California, United States. This notice explains how information is handled on authorleverage.com. Contact [email protected] with privacy questions or requests.
Information you choose to provide
When you request a conversation, we receive your name, email and any book or business context you enter. If you choose to include a diagnostic result in a request, that context also goes to Author Leverage. We use this information to respond, arrange the conversation and handle the resulting business relationship. Submitting an inquiry does not subscribe you to advertising tracking or authorize uploading your contact details to an advertising audience.
Site operation and local storage
Cloudflare hosts and protects the site and stores submitted inquiries in its D1 database. Network and browser information, including IP addresses, may be processed to deliver the site, prevent abuse and diagnose faults. Cloudflare also supplies aggregate traffic and performance measurement through its own beacon; that measurement operates independently of the optional Google and advertising choices below.
Your tracking choices are stored in this browser for up to 180 days, together with the time, notice version and configured services. This preference record is not sent to advertising platforms. Diagnostic progress and duplicate-event checks may use local or session storage to support the experience. Browser storage can be removed through your browser settings.
Optional analytics
With your analytics permission, configured analytics services receive page visits, diagnostic completion and selected site interactions. Our explicit event payloads exclude names, email addresses, inquiry text, diagnostic answers, scores and bands. Analytics providers still receive connection information such as IP address and browser information.
Google Analytics can use cookies such as _ga and _ga_… to distinguish browsers and sessions. We disable Google Signals, advertising personalization, automatic form capture and enhanced conversions in this integration. See Google’s privacy policy and how Google uses information from partner sites.
Optional services configured in this version: Google Analytics. A configured service remains off until you allow its purpose. If PostHog is enabled in a later version, it receives explicit analytics events with a browser-generated identifier; its privacy policy explains its processing. PostHog session replay and automatic capture are not enabled by this integration.
Optional advertising measurement
With advertising measurement permission, configured advertising services may receive an event when our server confirms a successful conversation request. This measures a request, not qualification, a booked call or a completed conversation. These events do not include the contact details or message you entered. The providers may associate the event with browser identifiers, connection information or an account they recognize.
Advertising services can use cookies such as Meta’s _fbp and _fbc, or Google’s _gcl_… cookies. Actual storage depends on the configured provider and browser. Meta’s privacy policy, Meta’s cookie policy and LinkedIn’s privacy policy explain their practices. A provider listed here as an explanation is not necessarily active; the configured-services list above identifies this version.
Optional Meta audience building
Meta audience collection is not active in this version. When enabled and permitted, it shares visits to approved public pages with Meta to build site-visitor advertising audiences and help find similar people for future Facebook and Instagram advertising. This use is separate from measuring conversation requests. Meta may link activity to its own identifiers or accounts. No advertising spend is needed for permitted audience collection, and collection does not guarantee an eligible or useful audience.
We do not upload email lists, enable automatic advanced matching or send diagnostic answers, scores or inquiry text through this integration. Audience memberships and provider-held information follow the provider’s retention rules; they are not a permanent record of everyone who visited.
Your choices and privacy requests
Optional purposes default off. Use the “Privacy & tracking preferences” control below on any page to allow purposes separately or withdraw permission. Rejecting does not prevent you from using the site or submitting a form. Withdrawal stops future optional collection and removes the optional first-party analytics/advertising cookies this site can access; it does not erase information already received by a provider.
We honor the Global Privacy Control browser signal by disabling advertising measurement and audience building, including when a previous saved choice allowed them. The “Do not sell or share my personal information” control provides the same advertising opt-out on this browser. We do not exchange inquiry contact details for money. Advertising audience sharing may nevertheless be considered sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising under applicable privacy laws.
Email us to request access, correction or deletion of information you submitted, or to raise a privacy concern. We may need reasonable information to verify a request. Applicable rights depend on your location and the law that applies; we will explain any limitation. We do not condition our services on accepting optional tracking.
Retention, recipients and changes
We retain inquiries while needed to respond and manage a business relationship, and where necessary for recordkeeping, legal obligations or disputes. We review deletion requests individually rather than promising a retention period we cannot enforce. Analytics retention is controlled in the relevant service settings; cookies and provider records can have different lifetimes. Cloudflare and any enabled analytics or advertising providers may process information outside your country, including in the United States. Their linked policies explain their processing and any applicable transfer safeguards.
This service is intended for adult business users. If you believe a child supplied personal information, contact us. We update this notice when practices change. Adding a configured optional recipient or changing an optional purpose asks this browser to choose again before the new collection begins.
